As Vogue editors, we often wax poetic on the latest runway must-haves and home decor treasures, but not every item we gush about on this website ultimately ends up in our closets and homes. Our discoveries are nice to behold—they’re lovely to look at and inspire fun conversation—however, of all these cool things to buy, what did we actually end up purchasing? Each month we’ll highlight those special finds our editors welcomed into their lives—all the things that made us buyers rejoice.

If you’re searching for ways to prepare for an epic summer, taking a peek into the shopping carts of Vogue editors might give you some shopping inspiration. After all, the unpredictable April weather has forced many of us to skip spring and get right to our summer shopping list. I, for one, have several summer weddings and parties on the lineup, which required me to find a versatile dress that can carry me through those seasonal plans. On the less formal side of things, my colleague Clarissa found the perfect floral frock to wear during daytime jaunts.

And it’s not just fashion items that captured our eye. Some home essentials and beauty products are ensuring we’re completely ready for all the goodness that might come our way this summer. See for yourself in our roundup of the best items we purchased last month, below.

Not only does Cate Holstein make great clothes, she also gives great beauty advice. I read this old interview with her on Vogue.com where she mentioned this Chanel highlighter as one of her beauty favorites. It truly is the best highlighter ever and has gotten me to switch from using my Benefit Watts Up highlighter that I’ve literally been using since middle school. The sculpting shade leaves you with the sheerest amount of sparkle for those no makeup days and it makes your skin glow like you’ve come back from a facial appointment.

New York’s second winter has me skipping spring altogether and focusing on summer. My recent wardrobe additions include this Wales Bonner’s sunshine stripes top and colorful crochet bucket hat. The ideal laid-back uniform for what I hope to be a relaxing season ahead.

Lately, I’ve been secretly obsessed with Fekkai’s Apple Cider Detox Shampoo and Rinse. I’ve struggled a long time to find a shampoo and conditioner combo that suits my thin Asian hair. One that is soft and gentle, while still deep cleansing. Note, the conditioner is atypical in that it’s a liquid base versus a cream, so it acts as a detoxifying wash that seamlessly slips through my strands. I absolutely love it, and it leaves my hair silky-smooth, fresh, and clean! I recently restocked on this set and I’m never looking back.

I actually walked into the Belstaff store in Manhattan looking for something completely different, but the moment I spotted this more-than-a-shirt/less-than-a-jacket work of genius, I prayed they had it in my size. Spoiler alert: They did, and it’s now my constant companion for this shoulder season—it goes over things, it goes under things—and its many pockets (both hidden and not) made a recent week with my kids in Paris much more manageable. Plans are already hatched for purchasing backups.

Spring is in the air, which is the perfect time to invest in a new pair of sunnies. And so I did. This month, I fell for Saint Laurent’s signature cat-eye sunglasses, and I haven’t left my apartment without them since.

I had the privilege of getting a sneak peek of Aroma, Costa Brazil’s new fragrance, at a press preview in mid-April and was simply intoxicated by the scent. I bought it as soon as it was released on April 20th, and after wearing it every day since it arrived, I have a feeling it will be my new perfume! The scent is so dynamic and changes throughout the day from citrusy to woody and is really so wonderful. I highly recommend it!

My shopping cart had a little bit of everything in it last month. From fashion and beauty to home essentials, I managed to source a few new favorites for every cabinet. I’m obsessed with my new pair of New Balance trainers. I plan to wear them with dresses and skirts all summer long—like this fun Rhode frock, for example! I needed new cookware yesterday, and this GreenPan set fits the bill perfectly. And I recently added Murad’s collagen infusion to my skincare routine for a plump, youthful appearance, and now, I’m not sure how I ever lived without it.

This fleece has been the perfect transitional item as the weather warms up, and has truly become part of my weekend/WFH uniform. The neutral colors go with everything, and I love that I can dress it up with some baggy jeans or throw it on with sweats/leggings.

These have become my designated spring sneaker. I love the worn-out, vintage look of the cream sole, and the metallic green is neutral enough to go with everything but still adds a subtle pop of color to any outfit.

I splurged this month and purchased two items that have been high on my wishlist! The coveted Chopova Lowena skirt and the ‘bad gal shoes of spring’ (dubbed by British Vogue) the Balenciaga Cagole boots. Both these pieces will be a staple in my wardrobe for the upcoming months!

Spring comes late in New York, so this sage scented candle from Flamingo Estate helps get me through the last of winter.

I needed something fun to wear to Vogue’s Pre-Met party and this metallic dress felt perfect for the American Hustle dress code. It’s also a comfortable versatile dress that I’ll add to my party dressing wardrobe, especially with all the summer weddings and soirées coming up on the calendar.
