Target shoppers have taken to TikTok to reveal their best hacks for finding bargains at the discount store – including its ‘secret’ markdown schedule.

Social media star Amin Shaykho explained that most Target stores have set days in which they offer discounts on certain products – and they remain the same each week.

For example, on Monday Shaykho claims the store offers discounts on electronics and baby and children’s items.

On Tuesday, women’s clothing, pets and food are usually marked down while health, beauty, men’s clothing and furniture are discounted on Wednesdays.

Meanwhile Fridays see auto, cosmetics, hardware and jewelry placed on sale.

Shaykho – who has amassed over 500,000 followers by sharing life ‘hacks’ – does not say what is discounted on Thursdays.

However other reports suggest it is housewares, lingerie, shoes, toys, sporting goods, decor & luggage.

In the video he explains: ‘Do not shop at Target until you know their secret sales schedule.

‘Target puts things on sale on different days of the week.’

The budget-friendly hack has been reported before – though shoppers have often pointed out the special discount days may vary between stores.

Clearance prices will also change between stores and there is no blanket rule for how much products are marked down.

Elsewhere other shoppers have shared their best tips for making the most of Target’s seasonal clearances.

TikTok star Karlasavings – who has 1.2 million followers and is known for her budgeting tips –  said she was often able to wipe up to 90 percent off the cost of her baby’s clothes.

She explained: ‘We’re looking at the seasonal clearance clothes.

‘You guys know for all the holidays like Christmas, Halloween, Valetine’s Day, even Saint Patrick’s day – Target comes out with cute little outfits for the season.

‘And after the season they will mark these items down. Some of these items will go as low as 90 percent off.’

She then films herself price-checking a host of items that all cost less than $2.50.

The videos come as soaring inflation puts mounting pressure on household budgets.

This week figures showed that the rate of annual inflation is now 4.9 percent – down from its peak in June 2022.

But it remains well above the Federal Reserve’s target of 2 percent.

Figures show that clothing is now 3.56 percent more expensive than it was last year while food is up 7.7 percent.
